After a failed attempt to rally a group of pirates on Florrum, Pre Vizsla and Bo-Katan of the Death Watch had found the two Sith and took them to Zanbar to be fixed up and 'nursed back' to health. Savage Opress was a Dathomirian Zabrak male Sith Apprentice who was second-in-command of The Collective and the brother of Darth Maul. Savage Opress, co-leader of the Collective. Later on, Maul killed Vizsla and took over the Collective and Death Watch. After a skirmish with the Hutt Grand Council on Nal Hutta, Maul had Oruba the Hutt executed by Opress after the Hutt told him where Marlo and the others were. After the meeting failed, Maul then had Opress kill the five leaders of the Black Sun, including Xomit Grunseit, leaving the decision to join the Collective to Ziton Moj, who joined the Collective. Maul and the others left for Mustafar to rally together the Black Sun. After a failed attempt to rally pirates on Florrum to join their cause, Maul and Opress was found by Death Watch members Bo-Katan and Pre Vizsla, who nursed them back to health.

Maul, leader of the Shadow Collective and fallen Sith Lordĭarth Maul was a male Dathomirian Zabrak Sith Lord who, along with his brother, created the Shadow Collective. Darth Maul and Savage Opress were both born as Nightbrothers and later created the Shadow Collective. They lived in a village on the far side of the planet of Dathomir. The Nightbrothers were a tribal group of Dathomirian men who served the Nightsisters. But they soon forced their way into Kolluga's throne room and forced Kolluga to join the Shadow Collective. When they arrived at Kolluga Desilijic Fortiure's Palace, another skirmish took place there as well. Now, Maul had to have the Hutt crime syndicate Fortiure kajidic to join them. They then forced the three Hutts to join the Collective and then they went off for Nal Hutta again. When Maul and the rest of the Collective arrived at Jabba's Palace, they found Gorga, Arok, and Jabba in the throne room. But afraid for his life and his friend Arok, he told Maul that they were all on the planet of Tatooine in Jabba's Palace, but Maul didn't keep his word and had Savage kill the clothes-wearing Hutt killed with his lightsaber. Maul threatened Oruba that if he didn't tell him where Arok, Marlo, and the others were, that he would kill Oruba.

But when Maul, Vizsla, and Oppress came back, they found out that all of the Hutts had escaped except one, Oruba. But the bounty hunters soon had to escape and left Hutta. But the meeting soon turned into a skirmish and bounty hunters Sugi, Embo, Dengar, Latts Razzi, and Marrok were sent after the group. Then they went to Nal Hutta to form an alliance with the Hutt Grand Council. Maul soon tricked Pre Vizsla, the Pykes, and the Black Sun to be a part of the Collective. Maul and his brother, Savage Oppress had been recently rescued by the Death Watch and recovered from their previous wounds.
